The current monthly charge for an amazon seller is $39.99 per month. To join amazon seller central, you will be billed immediately for that monthly subscription fee.

If you don’t wind up using the account, you can attempt to email Amazon for a refund, but it’s required if you do intend to sell on Amazon.

Having a professional business email and business address is crucial when selling on amazon. This is because it helps to legitimize your business and shows that you are serious about selling on amazon. If you do not have a professional business email or address, you should consider getting one. This will help improve your chances of success as an amazon. This will help your brand because they will see an email with your company domain when your customers contact you. Also, it will help you become better organized because you will have your business emails segregated from your personal emails. Any customer inquiries will be readily available on this email. It’s a great way to start off business for new sellers.

Having a professional email also looks better when you start contacting suppliers for your own inventory needs.

Once you register your email and OTP (One Time Password), you will then be asked to enter your personal information. You will start by entering the location of your company (Country first). Here, you should also enter the business address that you use for your company account.

When you enter your business information, it’s best to get off on the right foot and have a business entity formed.

When starting a business, it is vital to form a legal entity. This will help protect you and your business if something goes wrong. It is also essential to consult with a lawyer and tax professional to ensure that you are taking all of the necessary steps to set up your amazon business correctly.

These days the amazon marketplace and the social media platforms you may be advertising on tend to look at entities more favorably than sole proprietors. Moreover, amazon stores look more professional when they have a legal business name. Amazon Sellers need to be more sophisticated and look more professional these days.

You can form a legal business entity in your state or consult with professionals to determine which state can provide you the most benefit when you register there. (Consider taxes and legal implications)

You can register for an EID number at the IRS.gov site. You will also need to familiarize yourself with the tax laws in your local jurisdictions. Don’t forget to find the state tax id information and any other tax identity information you may need. This will help your tax preparer to determine your tax liabilities. (In other words, the easier you make it on them, the less it will cost you in the long run.)

Suppose you don’t want to set up a legal entity such as a corporation or an LLC (Limited Liability Company). In that case, you can just sign up as a sole proprietor. (Please educate yourself on any possible liabilities you may face if you do so.)

You will need to put in a telephone number so that they can contact you if need be.

You will then need to enter a credit card (can be personal or business-though business is preferable to keep your accounting in order). You mustn’t put a debit card number because Amazon may suspend your account if you do this. (They may not explicitly give you a reason for the suspension.)

Lastly, you will need to input your identity details. You will need to upload your driver’s license or passport or something that can identify you legally.

Below that, you can input the location of your business and the type of business you will be running.

On the next page, enter the EIN number you obtained from the IRS site. The IRS usually sends you the number within a few hours. The field name is Company Registration Number (Where you will fill out the EIN).

Next comes the Jurisdiction of business. This is the state where you registered your LLC or Corporation.

Below that, you will fill out the address of your business.

On this next page, you need to enter your:

  • country of citizenship
  • country of birth
  • date of birth
  • proof of identity and expiration date, and country of issue
  • residential address
  • and mobile phone number.

At the bottom, you can tick if the person listed is the beneficial owner or just a legal representative and if you have added everyone.

Then, click Save.

On the next screen, you will indicate where you intend to sell to.

The next screen is where you will fill out your billing information:

Again, do not put in any debit cards, or you may risk account suspension.

The fifth step is where you put in your store information.

Your Account info is almost done. Here you need to input the Store Name. This doesn’t need to be the legal name of the store.

A new seller can put in any name here and change it later. Consider using a general or generic expression so that you can sell in more than one niche.

The registration process is almost done. You first need to indicate if you have any UPS (Universal Product Codes) for your products. You may not have this yet if you’re just starting out, so don’t worry.

On the next question, you want to select yes if you intend to have the product in inventory or if you manufacture it.

For the last question on the page, click No, unless you have a trademark for the product.

Now click Next.

In the last step, you need to enter your identification information and upload the documents.

You can scan the documents or use your phone to take a pic and convert it to a PDF.

You should open a business bank account to start selling quickly to make things more seamless. It may not be a bad idea to even have multiple accounts.

To open a business account, you will need to take your business documents (such as your articles of incorporation) to the bank so that they can process things efficiently.

Amazon tends to prefer working with bigger banks and is less likely to delay anything if you use one of the major ones.

Don’t forget to include and verify your business name, valid billing address, and info.

You now have an Amazon seller account.

Generally speaking, you will need around $5,000 to start selling on amazon. This will cover the cost of product sourcing, shipping, and other miscellaneous expenses.

You could use your savings, take out a loan from the bank, or even look into crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter.

Whichever route you decide to go, just make sure you have a solid plan before diving in headfirst.

If you’re looking to source products from China, Alibaba.com is a great place to start. Keep in mind that you will need to factor in the shipping cost when sourcing products from overseas.

Otherwise, you could end up losing a lot of money.

When sourcing products from overseas, it’s essential to communicate with the manufacturer to get an idea of the lead time and ensure that they can meet your order quantity.

An agent can help you save money on shipping costs and help you navigate the customs process.

Knowing this amount will help you with your calculations. Generally, there are tiered pricing structures. In other words, the more you order, the more discounted the price is after meeting certain thresholds.

It’s important to factor in the cost of shipping when calculating your margins.

When it comes to becoming a professional seller on Amazon, it’s essential to know if you will fulfill the orders yourself or use Amazon Fulfillment (Amazon FBA).

If you decide to use Amazon Fulfillment, Amazon will take care of all the order fulfillment.

Otherwise, you will have to process, pack, and ship the orders to your customers. Any emails will be masked by Amazon. In other words, the email list belongs to them.

Can you Sell Used Items on Amazon?

Yes, you can sell used items on Amazon. However, it’s not as easy on eBay to Facebook Marketplace.

Amazon is very strict with its categories and can restrict anything they deem not eligible.

What is Amazon FBA? (Fulfillment by Amazon)

Amazon Seller Central Dashboard
Dashboard

Amazon FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon) is a program that allows you to send your products to Amazon, and they will take care of the rest.

This includes processing, packing, and shipping the orders to your customers.

It’s a great program because it takes the hassle out of order fulfillment and cares about your product.

If you’re using Amazon FBA, you don’t have to worry about storing your products.

However, if you’re fulfilling the orders yourself, you will need to find a place to store your inventory.

The size of your storage space will depend on the number of SKUs (Stock Keeping Units). The larger the number of products and the larger the items, the higher the cost. (Weight also plays a factor.)

Generally, your product gets to your customer at a perfect time. If your product is eligible for Amazon Prime, it gets there in one or two days.

How to Stand out from other vendors?

There are a few ways to stand out from other vendors on Amazon FBA.

One way is to have a unique product that nobody else is selling.

Another way is to have a lower price than your competition.

You can also offer great customer service and exceptional products. It’s also important to have great product pictures and descriptions.

It goes without saying that having outstanding customer reviews is crucial to your success!

Are there Different Seller Levels On Amazon?

Yes. Seller Levels will affect what you’re allowed to sell and the fees you’re charged by Amazon.

Professional Seller

Amazon’s fees scale as you move up in account tiers. As your account status improves, you’ll be charged a higher fee to upgrade it. Instead of paying a fixed closing charge, you pay a variable closing cost on sales. You can also develop your own product pages if Amazon isn’t selling the same items.

Platinum Seller

The most prestigious status on Amazon is the Platinum Seller ranking. The details aren’t public, but we may infer that Platinum Sellers have greater visibility on Amazon’s product pages and item listings than other seller types. As a result, they can easily overshadow merchants at lower tiers. A Platinum Seller also has exclusive access to categories reserved for them.

They also get weekly payouts and can add extra keywords to their listings, which improves their ability to get in the buy box. You can apply to become a platinum seller or be invited.

How to Add Your Products to Amazon Seller Central?

Adding products to Amazon Seller Central is easy. You can either match an existing product or create a new one.

If you’re matching an existing product, you will need to find the ASIN (Amazon Standard Identification Number) and the UPC (Universal Product Code), EAN, JAN, or ISBN.

Then, you will need to provide the following information Offer Detail, Product Details (title, Product condition, Price, Quantity, shipping options, etc.), and Keywords (And Search Terms).

In your seller central account, you will also need to list the product in its marketplace. You may list it in more than one marketplace.

What is Amazon Vendor Central?

With Amazon Vendor Central, you are essentially a seller to Amazon.

Amazon Vendor Central allows you to supply items for Amazon to sell to their customers. You do not have to sell to their customers.

Amazon Vendor Central is similar to Amazon Seller Central because it acts as a hub for you. You can see inventory levels and transactions.

Amazon Vendor Central is considered a first-party (1P) because Amazon is the one selling, not you.

How do I get my inventory to Amazon’s Fulfillment Centers?

After having an amazon seller account, you can go to Amazon Seller Central and apply for Amazon FBA. Once you apply and get approved, you will get a notice. You need to set up Invoicer Setup first.

You will then need to verify that the items you wish to sell via Amazon FBA are eligible.

You will then have to list each product for sale on Amazon using Amazon Seller Central.

Your products must be labeled correctly before sending them to Amazon.

Certain manufacturers have barcodes that Amazon already has registered; otherwise, you need to label the items yourself.

When you add a product to your catalog, Amazon generates an FNSKU, which you can find in the Inventory section of seller central.

Under Manage FBA Inventory in the menu bar, you can click on Edit to the right, and in the dropdown, you choose Print Item Labels. Select the number of labels and follow the instructions. Then just print them.

Shipping the items to Amazon

It’s essential to set a shipping plan before sending things out to Amazon. In Seller Central, choose inventory. In the Manage Inventory Page, choose Create3 a Shipping Plan. Choose the address from where the items will be shipped.

Select case Packed if the items all have the Same ASIN or Individual if they are all unique.

Then on the Set Quantity tab, enter the Units per Case and the Number of Cases.

Follow the instructions and make sure that these steps are done correctly!

Go over everything, make sure that everything is correct, and click on Approve Shipments.

Then click on Work On Shipments and select your shipping method. Approve the method and make sure that everything is packed according to how Amazon requires you to ship. Accept the changes and then Complete the Shipment.

Should I Hire an Agent to Take care of the Shipping?

In short, yes!

Nothing beats experience, and if you can hire someone who’s done this before, I highly recommend it. There’s nothing more frustrating than having Amazon send you the items wrong because something was entered or packaged incorrectly.

An agent can help you do all of those things.

Talk about the best ways to find an FBA agent.

When it comes to finding an FBA agent, you should keep a few things in mind.

The best way to find an FBA agent is to search for “FBA Agent [Your Country].”

You can also check out websites like Amazon Seller Central or the “Amazon FBA Agent” Facebook group.

Another great way to find an FBA agent is to ask other Amazon sellers who they use.

There are also a few companies that provide FBA services, such as ShipBob and Flexe.

Amazon FBA Prep Service?

An Amazon FBA Prep Service is a service that will help you get your products ready to be sent to an Amazon fulfillment center.

The service will receive your products, inspect them, and then repackage them according to Amazon’s requirements.

They will also label the items correctly and ensure that your products are packaged perfectly to minimize any delays.

Amazon will prepare your products for a per-unit fee.

When you create your shipping plan, we’ll provide an estimate of the prep fees based on the products’ anticipated services.

There are standard fees for standard and oversized products. You may also be required to separate shipments as many fulfillment centers throughout the country.

What is an Individual Seller Account?

The Individual selling plan is a pay-as-you-go service that provides access to a basic collection of listing and order administration tools.

Private sellers can individually develop listings by matching their items to existing pages or creating new Amazon.com directories.

Shipping rates are set by Amazon. They determine the levels of shipping you can offer to your customers. You don’t pay unless you sell.

You may sell on Amazon with the help of your Amazon Pay account. Your sales income will be paid out to you using Amazon Pay.

An Automated Clearing House (ACH) or electronic transfer moves money from your bank account to yours after you start selling.

You need to have a bank account set up and synced with your Amazon Seller account.

This is a great way to go if you don’t have a big budget. It’s a monthly subscription of $39.99, and you pay $.99 per item sold.

How to Sustain Long-Term Success?

The last thing you want to consider is whether or not you can sustain long-term success. This will largely depend on your business model and how well you execute it.

If you’re looking for a quick buck, Amazon probably isn’t the right platform for you.

However, if you’re in it for the long haul and you’re willing to put in the work, there’s no reason you can’t be successful on Amazon.

Here are a few things to keep in mind:

-You need to have a solid business plan

-You need to execute your business plan flawlessly

-You need to be constantly innovating and adapting

-You need to have a team of people who are just as passionate about the business as you are

-You need to be willing to put in the long hours

If you can do all of those things, then you’ll be well on your way to sustaining long-term success on Amazon.

Conclusion
